Ride Guide

We are a recreation club that is affordable to all.

We do not affiliate with any single bicycle shop.

We are a social "no-drop" road cycling club who welcome all types of bikes – gravel, hybrid, recumbunts and electric.

Helmets are required on all of the PEDAL rides
Pre-Ride:
On social media and website, the ride will be listed along with Ride with GPS (RWGPS) map.

If a PEDAL member or non-member riding for first time with group wants to join ride, please RSVP to Contact Person listed on ride info posting and include your cell phone info.
Ride Day - Contact Person will facilitate:

Departing at designated ride start time. Ride departure is no later than 10 minutes after scheduled ride time.

Verify if everyone is a PEDAL member.

Non-members may ride with Pedal one time before becoming a member. They must sign the Multi-Waiver form before riding. Contact person will collect signed waiver.

Conduct a pre-ride briefing

A review of the route, regroup points and known difficulties along route.
-
Have everyone introduce themselves.
-
Review hand signals and communication.
-
Count the number of Ride Participants. Verify at regroup points.
-

Safety is primary.
-
Be open to suggestions for improving safety conditions either during the pre-ride briefing or during the ride.

If needed, assign a sweep to ride at the back of the group.

For bad weather, cancellations, etc., an announcement will be made of ride cancellation on the social media sites.
Cyclist Guidelines:

Rides are open to current PEDAL members who have paid 2025 dues and completed PEDAL Registration Information & Release Form.

Visitors are allowed to cycle one (1) time with PEDAL by signing the Multi-Waiver form.

Safety:
-
You MUST wear a bike helmet to participate in PEDAL rides.

You are RESPONSIBLE for your OWN SAFETY.

It's recommended that you use a mirror. Front and back lights are encouraged to increase your visibility on the road.

Cyclist Commitment:
-
RSVP for rides; arrive 10 - 15 minutes before ride departure.

Download route (no paper maps given).
-
Understand your fitness level vs. the ride planned.

Communicate with the contact person on the ride if leaving ride early or safety concerns.

Communicate with other riders during the ride about road conditions and stopping/slowing.

Obey the rules of the road.

Bike Readiness:
-
Make sure your bike is in working order.
-
Carry the appropriate tools to fix a mechanical issue (tubes, tubeless patch kit).

Carry adequate water and food for your ride.

Suggest a Ride Guide:
-
PEDAL is always open to new rides. If you have a ride you like, prepare a ride route, give a colorful ride description and mileage estimate.

Strava or Ride with GPS (RWGPS) route appreciated.
-
